What do you think happens to your soul when you die?
I equate the soul to be the undeniable essence of ones character. The part of you that is responsible for your nature. Everything you do has an effect on someone else, no matter how small and insignificant the act. It doesn't matter what religion you practice or don't practice. It is as universal as the laws of physics and cannot be denied because it will exist no matter who believes in it.
Everyone has different opinions based on faith or lack there of about whether ones soul might or might not exist. In keeping with a perspective that can permeate all life, all faiths, all ideals, your soul is the impact you have left upon those you've encountered in your life. Your actions, your words, your love, your hate, your pain and happiness is passed on and impressed upon the links in the chains of life. Just as a parent raises a child and teaches them and then that child has a child and teaches them, a teacher may teach students and those students teach their children and so forth. There is a chain. But it doesn't matter how big or small your presence may be in an others life it can have profound effect on them and they will carry it in them and however they process that experience internally it will then be externalized in some way which will then effect someone else.
